Changing to manual tranny

Hi, I've always wanted to get a 4Runner but there is one thing keeping me from getting it (other than the cost of gas and the cost of the car itself). I only drive manual transmissions and I was wondering, since the Tacoma uses the same V6 engine as the V6 model 4Runner, does anyone know if a Tacoma manual transmission can be swapped into a 4Runner? This is just hypothetical of course cause I can't imagine myself buying a brand new car and having the transmission ripped out and swapped, but it's just something I've always wondered and if anyone has ever done it before.

Have you considered a manual FJ. It's the same powertrain as a V6 T4R.

And the FJ Cruiser with a manual is full time 4WD, unlike the Tacoma.

I just don't like the FJ Cruiser. I'll probably end up just looking for the last generation 4Runner that's a manual eventually. That may be the only way I'll ever get to own a manual 4Runner.
