Characteristics of auto height control

I'm wondering what other 4Runner owners with auto height control experience when towing with equalizer hitches. It seems to work great at keeping the rear end sag out but the point of an equalizer is to put weight up front. After really loading up the hitch bars with weight, my front end hardly goes down at all. My previous vehicles would of course not only sag in the back but as you equalize the weght through the weight distribution hitch the front end would go down as well. Does anyone else out there haul 6000# on an equalizer? If so I'd appreciate you sharing how your front end does under a load. I have a 2005 4X4 V8 Limited and have just started pulling a heavier trailer. Because there is no way to shut off the height control while driving, I have no way to compare it to previous tow vehicles. Thanks

Not really knowing if the height control only works while the 4runner is moving or not, but I think you should be able to pull a fuse out to bypass the system to run your check, then stick the fuse back in. Just a thought....could be wrong.

That might work. Do you know which fuse it is and is the height control the only thing on the circuit? I was hoping some might have experience with towing with the HC and could confirm that it also keeps the front up.
