Cheap HID lights

I bought a fairly expensive HID kit for my 4runner headlights. It lasts for 4 yrs. I saw the thread somewhere in this forum which member bought HID kid for $35-$40. I searched everywhere and couldn't find it. Could someone please help me to find that thread?

EDITED: I went through the boxes in my garage and found out that I actually bought my HID fog light kit from DDM. It has been 5 yrs and still running strong. It outlasted my more expensive headlight kit. In addition, they are locating about 10 min from my house. Unfortunately, they do not do the pickup anymore.

Are you thinking of the DDM kit? IIRC it's ~$60. Careful with those cheaper kits, the ballasts aren't too trustworthy. If I bought another kit I'd hookup a relay.

I found it. Yes. It's the DDM kit.

I have DDMs... Absolutely cheap and I hope they last at least a year lol

i rather pay extra for a complete reliable kit, theretrofitsource.com has the best hid kits. bulbs are better quality. ballast is alot better than other cheap stuff. close to the quality of oem nows.

From what you have said, I believe It's really an ideal kit, probably I can get one in the future.

I have yet to run into an HID kit where they weren't all made the same place. At this point I've resolved myself to by the pretty much the cheapest kit I can find. I know from personal experience that a DDM kit comes out of the same place in China as a generic kit I've also used, so they don't even fool me any more. I remember watching the tracking for the item leave the same town.

As a side note, I've yet to try out TRS's bulbs and ballasts so I can't comment on that, but I have heard good things.
