CHEAP white LED upgrade!

I just bought my DS lift spacers, a sub, an amp, wiring, a bunch of LEDS for my gauge conversion

convince me & my wallet that I NEED this kit

Wait until you get all those other upgrades finished and have time to play with interior lighting. That will give your wallet time to fill up

I have additional info: Thanks to JA and Utobius I tried the MAPLIGHT MODIFICATION and it worked!!! So now it looks like cape canaveral when I open the doors at night! I used JA basic info and Utobius picture showing the wire to hook to at the dome. Took 30 minutes. JA's full write up is intimading due to his switch addition and running into lower dash. Its actually a very quick mod if you run the wire to the dome light. (no sunroof.)

Ordered mine on Friday and they arrived today!! Took a few minutes to swap them. They made a huge difference! Would post pics, but there's already one on here...

Received mine in the mail yesterday. Going to install tonight. What is the easiest way to remove the clear lenses from the lights? Ie where are the clips?

A small flat head screw driver works well. Just have a little patience and it'll be easy.

Thanks. Just installed the 4 doors, 2 ceiling (rear & center) and the 2 map lights. But I have 2 bulbs left over (festoon style). Which ones did I miss?

You will have two extra lights no matter what you do. That is actually a great benefit! It gives you options.

I assume your talking about the wired board lights with 3M double-sided tape for your festoon style lights. Sort of on the wire. If so, I actually used the supplied adapters and installed one in front dome and the other in the drivers courtesy light in door. The board lights had the higher output so I installed them where they would have an impact. Also I would recommend the maplight modification to really utilize those two lights. If you tie in to the dome light that mod is not very difficult.

Yes, sorry. I googled festoon later and realized I was thinking about wrong lights. Those go in domes...or mine were in a plastic bag marked dome. Used one for rear dome and I have an extra.

Yes, I'm pretty sure. I haven't checked yet which ones they are. But the one that is failing is the one with the most LEDs, which is kind of a bummer.

Yeah I installed the domes. But still have 2 extras. Better to have extras versus not enough.

They have a slight blue hint. I was concerned about the same thing, but they actually light up well. Much, much brighter inside the truck.
