I think Amazon is advertising it incorrectly!!
It states Daystar KT09115BK...but the pictures show the new "Easy Install" kit. which has no preload spacer...it only has a larger top-out spacer & bolt extensions.

What is the difference in ride/handling between the two pics above. I bought the easy install kit from amazon. Did I buy the wrong thing????

You didn't buy the wrong kit. It all comes down to preference. I am not sure why one would want the preload or not. I have the larger topout only kit installed on my 08 and the ride is great. No problems at all. No spring compressor required. Definitely easier to install. I am sure JA can chime in as to why someone would want one over the other.

Its preference like you said. All top out is much easier to install especially with the stud extensions which mean no spring compressor. I havent heard anyone really who had issues with using an all top out kit. But other manufacturers prefer using a preload spacer. The old style DS used a small preload spacer. CF, Revtek, Toytec, all use very large preload spacers compared to their topout spacer size. The reason behind that is that they are worried about overextension of the factory suspension components. But having a large preload spacer reduces the space the spring has to compress/extend, therefore I chose a kit with some preload but smaller than the three kits mentioned.
Again, no one is reporting problems with any of the kits thus far, its just a preference.

Well after 8.5 hrs I finally got the DS 2.5 and the FJ rear suspension done. It was the most frustrating install I have EVER done. Def would have helped to have had a partner. As far as ride goes it feels better than it did before and with a new set of BFG AT KO it should look pretty wicked come january.
Why just the rear FJ springs ?
Front struts/spring will make a nice difference in handling .
JA , the only strange thing about the 4pc kit is that everyone , CF , Toytec , ect.... all use a topout and preload in front and it seem like a short cut for easy install , but also seem more of a logical thing to not have all the lift in 1 spot. They were able to lower the price and have easier install and sell the same kit without extra pcs.

I went ahead and replaced the rears b/c I already had them and my t4r had been wrecked in the rear so the suspension was shot. Im still looking for a set for the front. I went through a big fiasco with a D-Bag on ebay in which I never recieved my struts. Im just waiting for a good deal to come along. Ive been over to fjforums.com but there just arent any killer deals out there right now.
