Used is the cheapest! They are nearly indestructible and most people progress from spacers -> aftermarket wheels. You can usually get them at half the cost with a little patience. :reddance:

I just wish they weren't blue.

Can you tell me if there is any difference between using allpro spacers or spidertrax?

And I would like a wide stance, and I see that Allpro offers 1.25", 1.5" and 2", and spidertrax only offer 1.25". what are the advantage/disadvantage to using the 1.5" over the 1.25" spidertrax? Thanks-

I think once you get past the 1.25" you are going to have problems with the wheel/tire combo sticking out past the fenders. I just put spidertrax 1.25" spacers on with stock TE wheels and 275/70R17 BFG A/Ts and TBH, If they had been about 1/4" or 1/8" thinner it would have been ok with me. I think the 1.25" spacer is about as much as you would need. It makes the tire almost even with the fender. I wish these 4runners would have come stock with the same stance.

That great info thanks, what is your opinion about spidertrax vs Allpro spacers? Allpro has a 20% discount going right now, but most I've read about use Spider? Allpro also suggests a different set of "ET" lugs for the front (not sure why) but value your opinion, thanks-
 
Hey wdlsmaerw, are those hub centric or lug centric? I'm guessing lug centric. I know that the spidertrax and the allprooffroad are hub centric. From my understanding, hub centric is the way to go as you are less likely to have wheel hobble(don't know if that is the right word).

Anyway, I just ordered the allprooffroad ones, total came out to $154 for 4 spacers and the longer lugnuts for the front. The order was showing TBD for shipping so I called them and they are on back order. They said they should be in next week and that I will have another $10-$15 charge for shipping.

Actually even the SpriderTrax are both hub and wheel centric, its just late model Toyota axles that run hub-centric. Both the Addicted and the Spiders are designed the same way, they will accomodate what ever kind of axle you have.

Direct from SpriderTrax: "aluminum spacers are an easy way of spacing out front and rear late model Toyota axles that run hub centric wheels (wheels use shank style lug nuts)...In addition, each wheel spacer is both wheel & hub centric for a perfect OEM fit."
 
Hey guys , sorry for the noob question.. If I was to buy these spacers to use on my OEM Limited wheels... Will it make my 20" Limited wheel/tire look wider? I want it to look flush with the fender.

Besides the powder coating on the Spidertrax I'm not sure about the differences. I use the 1.5" on my 4th gen with the ET lugs all the way around, and I've gone wheeling with them.

They will push your wheels out further, so I guess in a way, yes.

I guess it is a personal thing for me, I had used spiders on an FJ40 resto-mod I did, and they held up great, so I just naturally went back to them for the 4runner when I wanted them. Considering the stresses they are under and the amount of mileage and abuse they will more than likely see I went with the spiders instead of an unknown (to me). For the 5th gen trail though (if you are planning on keeping the stock wheel) I would not go with anymore than 1.25". Unless you are going for the look of the tire sticking out past the fender.
