Check Engine Light = ECU Battery????

That's what a scan of my '96 SR5 said when hooked up to my diagnostic computer (Auto X-ray EZ-Scan) Code won't reset, what does it mean?

4Runner is running well with no obvious problems.

It's 2 years old, a pretty heavy duty Sears Die-Hard.
