My check engine light has been on for roughly 8-9 months. In the beginning the code was for a cylinder misfire (2 & 5). Last month it was for a bad oxygen sensor. My husband replaced the all the sensors (I think there was two) and it is still on. I'm in the south and the temps have been colder than normal, causing the ignition to act funny here lately. Yesterday, as I was leaving my home. Put in reverse, worked fine, put in drive worked until I started up a small incline on my driveway. Then the motor sounded as if it was sputtering, and would not more forward. Put in reverse, drove perfectly, put in park, accelerated the engine (in park), all was good. Put back in drive, and it drove perfectly. Then I noticed the check engine light was off. I got to work, turned the engine off and back on, no light. So, I decided to go get an emissions test (since I need it for my tag renewal, soon) and to my complete surprise it passed! I returned to work, then came out that evening to go home, started truck and there was the light again. If anyone would like to offer any opinions I will gladly read them. Thank you in advance. My husband is at loss too, he thinks it may be some kind of air leak and it planning to use a smoke machine to test for a leak.
