I'm glad to have found this forum, looks like a fantastic place for information. Im haiving the first ever real trouble with my 97 and looking for suggestions before I take it in. The check engine light went on while on the way home from vacation. Pulled over and called the dealer and told them the car was running fine and that I suspected emissions. They agreed so I drove it home 100 or so miles. Car ran fine the entire 100 miles. When I started it up today it sounded as if the muffler had fallen off! I had to get to work, so only had time to take a quick look at the maifold and exhaust line which all looked fine. Kept the car parked and took the other car to work. My original plan was to have the code read and proceed from there, but now Im not sure if I should even drive to have the code read. Any idea what could have happened over night? I just cant figure this one. Thanks!
