Check Engine Light

My check engine light came on last night and it seems like it wasn't accelerating like it usually does, like it could be floored and not do much. Still runs fine, gradually gets up to speed but not what it usually does. Any hints or ideas?

I know, I was just seeing if anyone had ideas on the acceleration before hand.

Thats what my buddy had mentioned. How do i go about that?

Don't go about anything until you pull the codes. It'll take 35 seconds and are free to borrow from any auto store.
