I've been having this problem for quite a while now my 4r runs great and is in excellent condition but the light keeps coming on I reset it plenty of times the code is p0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1. Anyone have any ideas to what this might be? Mind u I do have k&n a/f and flowmaster exhaust.

I'm having some same issues with mine. I have an 02 sr5 and I went to start my runner this morning and it had a rough time turning over. The battery is fine. Once it turns over, it idles very roughly and when i give it gas, it stalls. Hope this isn't a huge issue. Any help?
Hi,I am not sure about Toyotas,but I am a certified Honda tech and when I get a p0420 code it has to have a CAT,period.May be different for Toyota though.Call the dealer and tell them the code maybe they will tell you.:
