check for sludge? remove valve cover?

hey guys, but its late at night and I can't sleep, (im on my phone)

well I was wondring how you remove the valve covers? any writeups? I have seen some people checking their sludge problems and I might have some.

I would like to take of the right side, it would be easier since the intake manifold isn't in the way,

can someone walk my through it or give me a writeup?
