I am going to pick up my new 2005 4Runner SR5 4x4
with these installed options
Rear spoiler
Daytime running light
Leather seats

Anyone has a quick check list for what to look into before driving the car out of the dealership?

Yeah, it consists of one item:

1. Make sure your 4runner SPORT EDITION has the new V8!

Just Kidding. Obviously there are reasons against those, but IMO they're are a must. A serious list, nope, can't help ya, sorry.

I second the motion, V8 baby VVti...what could be better, except the wait, Southeastern yota says its will be at least Jan 15 2005, oh I do dream

Its all about the beads and Moon Pies

Here is a few things to look for. Take a flashlight with you, makes looking easier.

Check under the T4R for any oil or water leaks, Check under the hood for the same.
Inspect the paint very carefully(this is the only time you will be able to get scratches fixed),
also check the glass for pock marks and rock chips.

Be sure all the manuals are accounted for. Check the radio, air-conditoning and etc. The
saleperson, as part of the sale, is supposed to go over all the parts of your new T4R
and be sure you know the proper operation.

And last check the door frames and under the hood and if they are not spotless,
make them clean it. The dealer got several hundred dollars for prep. When I was
looking for my T4R, I was surprised how poorly the dealers kept their inventory.
A couple of the dealers, I know had never washed any of there units.

The last, Enjoy(thats the best part).

Definitely take it for a test drive before signing off on it. The test drive will let you see how it drives on the road and not just see it running parked.

If they try to put that stupid plaque or sticker from the dealership to advertise that you bought it from them, make them take it off. That's just a personal preference for me. They aren't paying me to advertise their dealership so it was the first thing to come off.

Make sure things are working like lights, horns, radio, A/C, sunroof, windows, etc.

If you're truck came with added options, make sure its included. Mine initially came with the wireless headphones and the remote for the RSA on the window sticker, but I couldn't find it in the truck. I mentioned it to my salesman and he wrote me a "We Owe" slip. I took it to the parts department and they wrote up an order slip. A couple of days later it came in and I picked it up. This will be your only oppurtunity to make sure everything that you're paying for is there.

Also I think they are suppose to deliver it to you washed with a full tank of gas.

Have fun and drive it. I remember putting a couple hundred miles on it the first day I had it. I was driving to friends house just so they could see it.

agree with the logos

Definitely do not allow them to put anything except a license plate frame on the vehicle to advertise the dealership. They are not paying you to advertise, and I tell them that I will not accept the vehicle if there is a sticker or emblem from the dealership.

One other thing to check is the rear-window wiper. I found that mine was bent, and they never tested it. I went back and they pulled the arm off a new 4Runner to replace it and check to make sure it was working.
