Check out this rollover

Went to the slavage yard and found a poor 4Runner that got demolished in a rollover. I got some good parts though...if anyone needs anything, let me know (this place had about 5 4runners, 1996-2001)

That picture is one reason I want to do the 1st gen roll bar retrofit. Have seen a few get samshed like that from roll-over. Need to protect the kids.

Truthfully that may be a good investment for the kids, but if you are gonna do that, do a full internal or exo-cage on the truck, so atleast you are protected in the case of a rollover.

Wow, that is quite a bit of damage. It does not provide much confidence...

Must have been a pretty violent roll-over. The truck I'm getting my donor tranny from was involved in a roll-over as well, and it looked FAR better than this one. In fact, just a few wrinkles and dents in the roof...no noticeable buckling of the pillars.

John at 6'4 most of the Internal cages would interfere with my comfort to much or me getting in and out of the vehicle for a DD. I really like the RockHard 4x4 cage for the XJ and TJ and I am hoping ot get them to make one for my truck however they said they have to many requests for the Heeps to worry about a new product or custom piece. As far as an EXO goes, well again this is my DD and I dont think the appearance is suitable for that end result. Also the 1st Gen Roll bar can be picked up from salvage yard for around $50 and then a few hours of labor to modify it.

The ones I have seen that squashed were also high speed roll-overs from traveling at or above freeway speeds. The low speed ones usually arent as flat.

Actually, it looks like something crushed it. I dont see any road rash on the roof or any dirt or other signs of a normal rollover. I've seen, from about 15 feet away, a Jeep do a barrel roll on an off road trail and, even though the cage did it's job, the vehicle suffered quite a bit of damage, including popped tires, crushed corners and a lot of paint and body damage.

Is this donor a 5 speed? JK.
