i was at the junkyard messing around looking for parts and a seen a 90 4runner just like mine but 2 door whats up with that i didnt kno they made those they rare or what anyone got a pic of one ................??

Thanks for the links Sidney, That is interesting that Toyota would make a 2-door without a removable top. I have a 1st gen (2door) and it's just about impossible for an adult to get in the rear seats. I don't see why someone would want the 2-door. But on the other hand, that's probally why their so rare.

They didn't sell well so they stopped importing them.

Personally, I love my two door! When I first got him, I just laid the back seats flat and told everyone he was only a two seater... got me out of a lot of 'taxi' runs at the time! But the reason I really love two doors (and would chose them over four) is that a travel a fair bit and just camp in the car, since I'm usually only in one spot for a couple of nights. I've made a few mods, and have a great camper setup, having back doors would just get in the way, and make me feel a bit less secure when I'm tucked up inside.

The main reason they stop selling the 2nd generation two door is because the tariff (tax) was too high. The cost of the 2 door was selling as much as a 4 door. I read and heard stories about how the 2 door 4 Runner would outsell and hurt the American 2 door SUV like the Blazer, Explorer and Jeep
