Could you be a bit more descriptive considering I don't know how it was on your 96 base 4runner 2.7l?

Is it annoying at highway cruising speeds? Do you have to crank the radio up to hear it? Is it annoying to hear with the windows down?

its pretty loud, at highway speeds its normal until u floor it.
