Chevrolet Colorado Confirmed For US

Am I the only one that thinks that this doesn't look "American"? This thing reminds me of something I would see in Europe or Australia. Looks like a Hilux and a Chevy Traverse merged together. A possible Tacoma fighter? Maybe, if the price is right.

I like it. Cabin looks huge esp the 4-dr model! That is one thing i wish all trucks in this segment can do...the rear seatback recline feature. Right now, all midsize truck rear seatback are too upright, therefore destroying any notion of taking my family on long trips. Fullsize trucks are too big for my needs.

And with GM trying to prove themselves, i imagine that this next gen Colorado will be a winner, like what the Cruze did in its segment.

Wishes:
1. fully boxed frame (which the current Colorado already have)
2. disc brakes all around
3. reclining rear seatback
4. homelink option
5. rearview camera option
6. mid-to-high 20's fuel economy on the highway; high teens in city
7. Decent power, but i am OK with giving up some power for fuel economy
8. Low-range for off-roading + rear locker option (aka off-road pkg)
9. AWD or full-time 4wd option, but OK with just part-time 4wd too
10. Half-decent interior design and materials
11. Good crash test scores

Yeah, if Chevy/GM can do these things, then they will have a customer in me!

Damn and I thought the tacoma had alot of plastic. The Rally kinda looks cool... not a huge fan but I think it could grow on me.


Also, I don't think AWD and 4WD can co-exist in the same vehicle, if it did, it would definitely be different. I could imagine AWD with like 3 lockers, F+R and Center. That'd be pretty badass.

Whoops, i meant a system like that is found on the 4runner (aka center diff). But, part-time is OK with me too since all new vehicles nowadays have stability control standard.

Rumor has it they're going to bring back the Trailblazer using this new Colorado platform. But, it wont be available in North America. I think the American market is moving more and more to the crossover type suv. With that said, I'm surprised no one has made a crossover pickup (with the exception of the Ridgeline). Chevy and Ford could have some sucess with an all new El Camino and Ranchero.

The front is too mush looking. To each and their own.

The 2nd gen Tacoma rear seatback angle is pretty good. But if it can recline like the Tundra CrewMax, then all the better. It was a HUGE step forward from the 1st gen Double Cab Taco. That Taco, the B-pillar is too far back and I had a difficult time getting my feet in and out.

Except crossover "trucks" like Ridgeline and Avalanche have gotten their butts kicked, in terms of sales. So has Subaru, first with the Brat, and then the Brat 2 I mean Baja .

For whatever reason, folks that want an SUVish car don't want a pickup bed. Who knew? :shrug:
