chevy 63 shock length and pattern

Hello,
need some quick help or advice.
about to match some chevy 63 to and older gen 1 total chaos caddy.
the question is what shock length do most run for the rear 63 swap and and whats the best pattern for a daily driver/ weekend warrior truck.

seems like / \ is the standard for the 63's swap but would going more vertical be more stable for daily driving?

any advise or suggestions. already have the front caddy and 63's just in the process of ordering shocks

Running your shocks as outboard and as vertical as possible will lead to a more stable ride. You also lose some of the dampening ability of the shock when not vertical. Take those things into consideration when using your rig for street duties. Not to say lots don't drive with shocks /\ as you mentioned.... most are looking for as much shock travel as possible and don't care about on-road characteristics. Most vendors sell the /\ kits, but that doesn't mean they're the best option for your needs.

The dampening loss associated with increasingly non vertical shocks is the reason I went the way I did with the 63" swap. I've been super pleased with the results.

thanks what length shocks did you go with and how much lift did you get.

the total chaos up front is only going to net 3" lift. trying to match that with as little rake as possible

Looks like Bilstein 5100 part number 24-185752, which is the same shock I am running. These are good with a 3"-4" lift.
