Hey guys, a few members over at autopia.org are planning a detailing meet in Franklin Park, IL (near O'hare) on Sunday May 15th. I'm planning on attending, so who's interested? Just reply to this thread with any questions and I'll make a list and let the Autopia boys know.

anyone want to meet up and head there together? i think it'd be cool if we can get about 4-5 4runners going together because there's be a small group of maximas there also.

Thanks for PM.
There is still some time to that meet but as for now I'm in. I'm not very good with detailing so I'm sure I can learn a lot there.......;):

Also if anyone is interested, there is another Auto-Sprint organized by Polish Automobile Club of America at Lake Geneva Raceway (Sunday 05.08.2005) I'll probably be there.
You can find more details here:

And here You'll find short video from last sprint (April 10)

cool krosno......you want to meet up and then go?

No problem..
We should probably wait with our meet place until we see how many more 4R will go with us. I know we have many more people from Chicago on this board and hopefully they will join us....

:iagree:

I PMed a dozen members I knew were from Chicago, and most haven't replied yet. If you are interested, please list the area you are from so we can decide on a meeting place. Otherwise, you can head straight to the detailing meet if you'd like. :)

Hey Trance,

Yeah I can make it on that Sunday. I don't know a ton about detailing, so I would definitely be interested in learning some more info :) Just keep me posted on details. Franklin Park is just around the corner from me!

Address:

3847 Carnation Street

Franklin Park, Il 60131

I'll let you know the time when I find out. Also, let me know if you guys would like to meet and go there together.

Ok looks like the starting time is going to be around 9:30 AM to 10 AM. For those who sleep in Sundays, Yes I do plan on getting there that early. It's a detailing meet!

As you can tell I'm excited because with this meet I'm killing two birds with one stone! (Autopia.org and T4R.org) It's my first meet for both forums. :D

I don't mind morning hours......At least Sunday is going to be longer for me because when I get up early I can at least enjoy it longer.... :D
Is there any plan for this meet? Is that address some parking lot ? Should I bring something with me ?
Just curious. :)

Mr. Castulucci-

Off topic here, but I just noticed in your sig that you have a 57 series K&N Intake. I ordered one a long time ago and it was placed on backorder. How does it sound?

It's a detailing meet. We will be sharing any experiences we have with detailing vehicles....if you are not good at detailing, then here's your chance to learn. Feel free to bring any detailing equipment you have. I'll be bringing a few polishes, waxes, and my porter cable dual action polisher.

That address is to a body shop that has indoor bays where we can wash and wax our vehicles. The parking lot is made to accomodate around 20-30 vehicles.

Here's the thread over at autopia.org:

It's a big thread but read only the last few pages.

The K&N sounds awesome! It's been dynoed, and it has a max HP increase of almost 14 HP too :) I actually swapped my stock intake in this week because I took my truck into the dealer, and driving around town just isn't as fun, hehe. I can't wait to swap it back.

As far as detailing goes, I could definitely use some advice. I have some scratches running the length of the 4Runner that I haven't been able to get out  And that's not to mention all the swirl marks I have everywhere! I definitely need some good coaching.

By the way, if it's alright, I might bring one of my buddys with me (he'll be in my truck; no extra vehicle)

Hi. I'd love to go and learn, but... There is always that darn BUT.
I hope i can join you guys some other time. :(
