childs seats 3 across

I would love to see some childrens seats 3-across in the 4th gen.

We currently have the Britax marathon, and previously were using the graco snugride.

Now, we will need an additional snugride as we are expecting twins. I'm pretty sure it will all fit a-ok.

I have purchased the graco quattro duoglider, yikes, 40lbs, that thing is big.

Check out the Radian 65 convertible car seat. Its comparible to the Britax but is only 18" wide. I've seen three across with those easy.

I have a very remote, difficult to access cottage. In fact, I used to only be able to walk the trail or use an ATV. There are very few vehicles that could match the combination of hwy comfort, off road ability, space, 4wd system, reliability and re-sale value. The 4Runner was an easy choice.

I didn't want to have 2 vehicles (one that just sits at the tail head), so I picked up this grocery getter.

For anyone interested, I was able to fit:

Britax Marathon behind driver
graco snugride infant seat middle
graco saferide infant seat behind passenger

The saferide is very long. You can still sit 100% in comfort in front of it, but you will have virtually no room to grab the release handle.

So from a safety point of view - how are you guys putting in child seates when they are supposed to be bacwards facing for the first year?

Just seems quite confining in the back seat in most vehicles - even the 4Runner

The britax is now forward facing due to age, size and weight. The two graco's are rear facing infant seats. They only face rear which is how I installed them.

I had the local fire dept review the install last night, they said the install is fine, and the space is acceptable.

No doubt it is tight, we will have to make very sure that the 2 infant carriers are fully locked in each time.

It's either a whole different set of seats that fit or else a different vehicle. Or two vehicles I guess.

Good to hear Jacal. I'm not surprised as I use a Britax Roundabout in the middle of the back seat with my infant's rear facing seat behind the driver with no problems.

The 4Runner is as capable a family rig as it is offroad.

I am from over on Tacomaworld and a little on FJCruiserforums..

The wife and I are havin a little girl in Feb, and we have a one year old that is currently in a Graco Snugride, and will likely stay in a rear facing car seat for atleast another year, ( he is still a little guy, born premie) and We just dont see being able to fit 2 rear facing seats in my Double Cab Tacoma, or her FJ, so we are looking at either selling the FJ to get a 4Runner or a Highlander or maybe to prep for # 3 down the road and get a sequoia..

I would just like to see a couple pics of the two rear facing seats in the 4Runner if available.. Thanks
