Chrome Door Handle Upgrades

I have a 2007 Sport Edition, Black. I was thinking about getting the chrome handle accessories so that the door handles match my grill. I was just hoping to get some opinions on what's better, black handles or chrome handles on an all black 4runner? Thanks, and here's a few pictures of my 4runner.

Do you know if they look too cheap on a black vehicle? I'm wondering if they will look like a cheap cell phone or ipod cover with those ugly plastic cases.

go to the dealership and look at a black sr5 (or any parking lot) they are standard on the sr5. I personally think they look cheap. I like the all painted look better. If i were you I would switch out my grille for a black one instead.

I was thinking about doing that instead (getting a black grill). Seems like it makes more sense to make the grill match the rest of the truck instead of making everything else match the grill. Haha. Then I plan on getting the pearl black emblems and letters to replace all of the chrome ones around the truck.

You might want to rethink the chrome door handles. The SR5 has a chrome grille, whereas the Sport Edition has a smoked chrome grille, like the headlights. The chrome and smoked chrome are pretty similar, but yet different enough. Personally, I don't like the chrome handles. Scuffs and scratches will show up more more easily. I do like it if they were body color with a chrome accent like Lexus vehicles--that's nice.

Alright thanks for your input guys. I'm going to just stick with my regular upgrades for now. I think the front skid plate, the valor exhaust tip, and new rims will give me more than enough chrome.

I think the painted door handles look good, but I really like that chrome grill on your black Runner. Black grill would be too much, I think, whereas this chrome grill is a nice contrast.

I like that idea. I have been kicking around the idea of making everything that is chrome or silver on mine to black. (mine would be all grey and black then)

I always say; "chrome won't get you home". LOL! But driving a toyota definitely will! I'm not a big fan of chrome, I prefer the color keyed look. But it's what you think will look good, it's your truck! If you like the chrome grill then a little more chrome might be what you need.

I'm swapping out my smoked chrome grill for a black one after I get my tires, so chrome isn't an issue anymore. I'm blacking everything out including my rims eventually.

NICE! Now that's the look that I like, I'm sure it will look bad a$$! I'm torn on being able to keep the color keyed thing going with my truck, but I'm ordering a Shrockworks front bumper and if I have it painted to match my truck, I'll have to wait even longer to install it. If I get it powdercoated black then it won't match the rest of the truck?

I keep seeing this thread being brought back from the dead from people voting on it, so I thought I should lay it to rest. Most of my truck is blacked out now, so chrome is definitely not going anywhere near it. Thanks guys.

Just kind of funny because I don't come on here every day, and when I do, I post maybe 1 or 2 things. :bash:
