Cig outlet...

Hey all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've got a problem with the cig lighter outlet on my T4R-Limited that I can't figure out. I had my Magellan GPS attached to it until the other day, I attached a cell phone charging cord to it.

It charged for a little while until I unplugged it, and swear I heard a pop, no idea where from. The socket no longer works, and seemingly, the one in the cargo area doesn't, either.

The AC 115V outlet works fine.

I've checked the cig fuse under the steering wheel and the AC 115V fuse under the hood. They're all fine.

Where else should I look? Am I missing something obvious? Apparently this cord has popped other fuses in other vehicles, and nobody told me beforehand. I just apparently can't find the proper fuse!

Its got to be a fuse.

A note on fuses sometimes they can look good visually, but they may be blown, best way to test is to just replace it.

Can someone confirm exactly which fuse it should be? I've already replaced the one marked "CIG" below the steering wheel, and nothing's changed..

Also, check the wiring in the panel under the power point socket. Highly unlikely, but possible that maybe the wiring was loose and it came off.

i just replaced my fuse same exact symptoms.... fuse.... its blue 15 i believe and in the middle with nothing next to it....


I have a 03 v8 sport

Not to be blunt or rude, but try it again while engine is running, if it works than it's fine.

Fixed! Thanks for the 15A tip. I switched the ACC and CIG fuses, and since it was the CIG outlet, I couldn't figure it out (and I still can't. What's CIG fusing?!)..

But I swapped the PWR OUTLET fuse (15A), and it's fixed.
