CL wheels, questions?

Hey all, I found these on my handy-dandy local Craigslist page (actually about an hour away, not important...) and I'm thinking about haggling the price down... but I'm not sure if the backspacing/offset would work for my T4R. I've searched and understand backspacing vs. offset, but need opinions on these specifically.

The listing says "12mm offset which will give about an inch farther outward."
1) This would mean a *-12mm* offset right?
2) So would that mean 3 or 3.5" BS?
3) Would that be too far from stock and negatively affect handling or suspension?

well if there 12 thats a 5'' offset and -12 is a 4'' off set soo they will stick out more the factory wheels are like 4.75 offset

Wait, I thought 16x8 would have 4" BS with 0 offset, so +/-12mm would be .5" one direction or the other. Is that wrong?

If I understand it correctly the 12mm offset would pull them in more. If it's a -12mm offset then it would push them out.
