"Clanking" noise at startup??

Whats up guys,

Odd thing happened today....I was leaving work and got in my car and started it up...then, the normal "WHOOOSH" sound of the V8 came on for a few seconds, and all of a sudden, every few seconds I hear a "Clank", "Clank...Clank", "Clank", "Clank, Clank, Clank", etc... After about a 2-3minutes later, the sound went away and the car drove home fine. The weather had dropped considerably from 82 degrees yesterday to about 56degrees today...but, I dont recall hearing the noise this morning, only afternoon from work. I did a search, and many tundra and sequoia owners are saying that it may be a "cracked manifold???" How? It only has 300miles on it! Anyone know what this might be?

Hmmm, I thought that noise was normal. I too, experience the same "clank, clank clank" noise and then goes away after a little bit. Tomorrow I will listen to it again and see if I for sure have the same issue.

My 2004 V8 Sport does the same thing when I first start it up. It doesnt do it all the time, just some times. Sounds like lifters ticking or something like that. It goes away after a minute or so. Strange. I dont know what it is either.

Although these V8's are super reliable, powerful, and super smooth, they are known to be some of the nosiest engines every created with very unusual clanks and whines.

Dont worry about it, my engine makes a different noise in all different temperatures.

My mom's Land Cruiser w/ the exact same engine is the same way.

Im not saying I hear your clicking from inside but if I go outside while idling, I can hear very light clicking from under the hood...completely normal.

To add, you have an engine that is continually being offered because it has proven itself since in debut in 99' as one of the most reliable engines every forged.

its normal... sounds like clicking or tapping and is louder when its cold outside. it's been like that since i got it. apparently all the iforce v8s are loud during cold startup. i just put in mobile 1 0w-30 and it was noticeably quieter.
