I am new to the board, so I dont want this to come off as pompous or unappreciative. There is a wealth of knowledge and some sharp contributing members. However...
We have 3 stickies. 2 of them are picture threads and one is for marketing. Easy access to other peoples trucks. Awesome. Lot of nice trucks on this board, no doubt.
What would be very valuable IMO would be to add a couple 2 or 3 stickies that cover the basics, like common isues (head gasket failure, #6 cylinder failure because of head gasket, etc.) with diagnostic approaches, maintenance, average expected costs/hours of labor for diag, maint, replacements so members dont get scammed... etc.
the EASIEST thing to find on this forum us pictures of nice trucks. Can't we work together to make relevant mechanical information available, and easy to access? I dont know about you, but I have never had an "I need to see what rims or lift or who has the nicest 94'" emergency. When I NEED information, its usually because something is wrong. Having that type of information organized and readily available, and easy to find is valuable to all of us.
Yes, I know there is a search function. Sometimes you can find what you want sometimes you cant/ sometimes you have to read 5 threads on a related topic to get the full picture.
This is just a suggestion, I would appreciate feedback from other members on this. What would make a good sticky? Who is willing to assist in putting them together?
I am not a mechanic, but I know how to find information. and can organize it. I will help wherever or however possible to make this happen if others see value and are willing to help as well.
