Clazzio install question...

Hi all, I begun installing my Clazzio seat covers and have a couple of questions: 1. On the console side of the drivers seat, the covers are just stuck down between the seats and tightened by the string? I've had difficulty getting the string taut at the rear of the seat. 2. I can see a very small area of the original cushion where the Clazzio meets in the area of the seat belt on the drivers door side. May have to live with that. I'm sure I'm the only one who will notice. And finally, I broke the knob at the front of the seat trying to remove it. How do you remove it without breaking it? Looks like it has some kind of clip. Thanks!

By the way, the Clazzio's are the bomb. They look GREAT. They will look better when I complete the install. Also, the instructions don't translate well...YMMV.

The knob is tricky. You have to pry off the clip to remove and when putting back on I put the knob in place and managed to slide the clip back on while continually applying pressure to side of knob. Kind of a pain but worth it b/c loving the clazzios.

I just installed my clazzio front seats and broke the seat adjustment knob getting it off. To remove the knob, you need to use a door handle removal tool to remove the snap ring from the knob shaft. I ended up buying a new knob from the dealer. When I picked it up I asked the parts guy how to get the clip and knob back on. He said to put the clip in the slots in the knob and then just push the knob onto the metal shaft. The shaft will spread the clip and it will hold it.

Do you stick a screwdriver behind there? Also, how do you tighten up the drivers bottom cushion on the console side? Thanks for the reply!

I either used a small screwdriver or plastic interior tool. I think I used needle nose pliers to grab the clip and tried to slid it back on. I would also try what another person mentioned sliding the clip on the knob then push the knob back on.

To tighten the bottom cushions, I just pulled the white strings pretty tight and tied the together underneath the seat about 3/4 of the way back. if you want to make sure, give clazzio a call.
I agree the instructions weren't very specific concerning how to tie them off.

Just finished the drivers seat back. Look great. FYI, it's easier, for tightening and appearance purposes, to remove all of the lower seat trim. One additional screw and unplug the lumbar switch. Now, I'm on the headrest. It doesn't seem to fit as tight and snug. Maybe it's just me? Looks like I might have to stuff something in there to tighten things up...Almost forgot, Is there a trick to tightening the strings? I can't seem to get them tight enough to take up the slack.

Update on the headrest. It helps not to install them backwards. They fit opposite of the way of the factory's. FYI...

To tighten the strings, tie a loop in one of them. Then put the other string through the loop and pull it tight. Then tie it off to secure it tight. It's easier with one person holding and the other tying it, but it's also very cramped under there.

Actually, the install is rather straightforward. I have everything done but the rear center armrest. When it's all complete, I'll post pictures and possible solutions for the problem areas.
