Clean 4Runner with new grill guard

Here is my clean 4Runner with the grill guard i put on. I ordered it on Thursday a week and a half ago and got it the following Monday morning. This is the first chance i have had to clean it up. What do you think?

IMO that grill guard looks like it's too big for the frontend and the light cover parts look like wings.


There are guards that fit much better.

Very true, but for the price, i am happy with it. I thought that when i first put it on, but I have gotten used to it. I still might take off the light guards and have a big center protector.
 
No offense meant but it looks too big overall. The head light guards look awkward and they make the 4runner look like it's wearing a catcher's mask. I would get a smaller center protector too. Even if you kept the center it kinda looks goofy with it being oversized.
 
Sorry to say I have to agree with the others, I think it is too big.

But it in the end if you're happy with it...That is all that matters.
 
Could it be your grille guard isn't fully seated in the rear most position?

I don't know which brand, but there is one for the 4th gen that tips foward to allow the hood to open. The direct frontal view looks like the grille guard is in that forward position to allow for hood clearance.
 
The Manik one looks like it's designed for the 4Runner specifically;the other looks like it fits several other vehicles since it's so wide.
 
That Manik is obviously a modular since there is now way you could open the hood in that fully seated position. I'm not to fond of Manik since I had two and they both rusted inside of two years. I got a waag one piece that has held up very well and is very contoured around the lights. So much so in fact, that I can't use it any more since I went to 06 housings (their more bulbous) and the waag won't fit around them anymore... so now I have a Jaos.

After seeing this, i might have mine set up wrong, it came with two types of brackets to attach to the inside of the grille, i might have used the wrong ones.

Anyhow, why do you care so much about what others think. Its obvious not too many people like mine, but I am happy with it and could care less because i am the one who owns it.

Update: I went and looked at all the bolts and they all have a lot of adjustments that need to be made. The one part where it attaches to the inside of the grill basically has a track on it so you can loosen and slide forward if you need to open the hood. Also the light bar is not level with the bumper, it is on an incline. I am going to fix this afternoon and post pics if the change is obvious.
