cleaned MAF and Throttle Body.... WOW

wasnt sure what to expect but man, the truck became so much more responsive and smoother. From start to accelerating to just idling.

throttle body was a mess, the back side was real bad. took a toothbrush and spray for about 30 minutes and just kept wiping and wiping.

Bought the truck 6 months ago and wasnt sure how well it was maintained, if you bought one recently i would recommend cleaning both. took about an hour but i was going slow, first time, and i was just looking around a lot. could probably do it in 30 minutes next time not messing around.

Had the same issue on my old 04 Tacoma. May need to do this to my "new" 02 4runner. No symptoms yet but they can get pretty dirty. It can even cause a high idle issue by not letting the butterfly valve close all the way.

If you get someone to install the air filter (OEM always), make sure they install it in the right direction.
