Just wondered if someone could point me in the right direction about removing light swirls in my paint

A nice light polish. Meguiars 2.0 swirl remover, then top the truck with a nice coat of NXT wax.

if you have lots of swirls....meguiar's 2.0 may be too light. you can try that first and if it does not work, try meguiar's #80 speed glaze.

I don't mean to hijack but could using quick detailer and a micro fiber towel cause swirls or does it just happen if waxed/buffed improperly? Every black vehicle I've ever owned eventually developed swirls (my WRX was really bad in some spots). I really want my Sport to stay as crisp as possible.

if you get the right microfiber towels, then your car should be safe. I've heard of the cd test where you take a cd, and rub whatever towel you want to test on the reading side of the disc (the side opposite of the cover). If the towel scratches the cd, then it'll scratch your car. Test several microfibers and choose the one that's the best (scratches less or not at all).

That's a good idea. These TurtleWax ones I use seem to be pretty good so far. 3 in a pack for $6 is pretty nice too. I think I have about 9 of 'em by now. Thanks Trance!

Swirls(spider web looking scratches) and marring are mainly caused by improper washing and drying techniques. You will induce these scratches if your paint is to soiled to use a QD(quick detailer) on. If a vehicle is buffed improperly you will see what are called holograms.
