Cleaning Tinted Windows?

How are y'all cleaning your tinted windows?

I know that ammonia is bad for them so I don't want to use Windex. Is there a certain product y'all are using?

I haven't cleaned them once since I had the tint put on  ...I think it's about time.

Windex also makes an ammonia free cleaner as do lots of other companies. They're pretty easy to find anywhere that sells glass cleaner and usually say right on the front "Ammonia free" or something to that effect.

I make my own glass cleaner:
1 cup rubbing alcohol
1 cup distilled water
2 tablespoons white vinegar

Not only does is it streak free, for some reason it leaves a slick, water beading surface like Rain-X!

This is also a great multi-purpose cleaner/disinfectant for your interior trim if you don't feel like greasing it up with dressing or protectant.

Funny y'all brought this back up.

I cleaned them this past weekend. I used some spray cleaner that my Mom had. The stuff was awesome. It came out foamy and didn't streak at all. And it smells good. It's kind of like that Invisible Glass.

Like many others have said, Stoners is a good product. I don't see it often, but I bought a bunch of bottles of it a while back to keep in the garage. I think I found them at Sams.

I also use another product. I think it's called sprayaway. It's sold in an aerosol bottle (just like the stoners) that is white with blue print. Newspaper is the way to go - no lint left behind, and much cheaper than going through paper towels. Microfiber works good to - I keep some white MF towels in the garage that I only use for windows.

If you want streak free lint free windows, you have to buy "Huck Towels" or some call them Surgical Huck Towels.

Amazon.com: Galaxy Blue Huck Towels 12-Pack BHT12: Home Improvement

They are used in operating rooms for varies tasks.

When I sold detailing chemicals, thats all I would sell for cleaning glass.

Yes the white and blue glass cleaner is called "Sprayway".
It has a little maid on the container. They also have a S**t load of different products too.
