Clicking Brakes?

Ive been hearing a fairly loud click when I press the brake pedal (can only hear it with windows open) on my '05 limited V8. It only happens once when I press the pedal, not throughout braking. I asked the toyota guys to look at it when I got a 50k service done, they said they didnt see anything abnormal. My pads are all in good shape and don't need to be changed.

Braking performance is normal, no grinds or bumps or anything, just the click. A quick visual inspection found nothing loose or out of place.

Any ideas what the cause is?

It probably is easy to tie to fwd/reverse loading. The 2nd stop either direction is probably quiet. The pads move a little and if you've had it looked at don't worry about it...

If you hate it pull the pads, lube the pins, glue the pads in with a 'brake quiet' glue avail at Napa or any auto parts store...

This happens all the time on the lexus cars if you're using aftermarket brake pads. I had two sets on my old LS400, both clicked on the first application of the brakes in either direction. The pads are slipping inside their caliper seats. It's nothing more than annoying, not dangerous. I eventually replaced them with OEM pads and new shims, and never had the problem again.
