I have an 07 V6 4WD and I have started noticing a clicking sensation comming through the steering wheel whilst turning it slightly such as on an on ramp or just weaving around pot-holes and such. Have any of you experienced this as well?
i have the same problem on my 99 limited when i turn the wheel hard to the left and right. mostly noticeable when making turns. not sure what the problem is.

Does it do it all the time? Does temperature matter?
We have this on a Honda we own. It's the power cord connecting the air bag in the steering wheel. It's on a type of reel that lets the cord out in one direction, then reels it in when you spin the steering wheel in the other direction. The sound happens in cold weather for us.
Honda replaced the reel once, but the sound eventually came back.
Maybe the sound in the 4Runner could be from a similar source?
