Clicking noise at slow speeds, need help!!!

I purchased my 2001 2WD last week and have noticed a clicking noise at slow speeds. I also took it in the Toyota dealership for some brake work and they noticed also. They performed a visual inspection of the drive shaft and couldn't find anything, everything was tight/nothing loose and says it need further investigation.

Has anybody had any experience with anything like this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I should also add that you can't hear the clicking from inside and it's only at slow speeds. It doesn't effect the vehicle running, but I know it's not supposed to happen.

noises are hard to narrow down with out hearing them or being able to locate on the vehicle, so you have to list all the possibilities that you think it could be and narrow the field. Could be pads, rotors, calipers, drive shaft (universals), transfer case, 2WD eliminates CV boot, tie rod, stabilizer bar mounts. just list some of them. i would talk to the mechanic who did your brakes and see what his suggestion is.

I'm going to change the rear diff fluid later this week at the hobby shop on base, they have a lift I can use and a mechanic on duty. I'll check what I can and see if he can find anything.

He's right ...rock, nail ,screw etc. you only hear those things when driving slow ..coming to a stop or taking off...

Don't over think it with crazy ideas..tread area, rotor area, dust cover etc.that kinda sound wheel area based
