Please Help Diagnose!!!

Hey all,

I have a 2019 ORP with 60k miles. So relatively low mileage for some of the components in question here but need help diagnosing this if anyone can.

My 5th gen is fairly modded all around where it counts but I tried to build it intentionally while making it capable but not "overly built". So it is heavy with armor, gear and rtt but not pointless mods that look cool but take away from function. I am regeared with 4.56s on 33s. I have done all the work on this ( suspension, suspension components, 12 volt, gears ( pre-assembled from ECG ).

I am aware that going over factory weight puts excess strain on the rig.

Can anyone tell what this is? Seized caliper? Bad wheel bearing? Rotors seem to be fine.

It squeeks when in motion. Really doesn't have a lot of play, if any, if you try to shake it when jacked, the noise doesn't seem to get worse with breaking or turning. The wheel isn't hot after driving for a while. It feels like there seems to be some drag at lower speeds. Especially slowing down from 3rd gear to second and all the way down to 1st ( this is what i noticed first ). It is not pulling to one side. I have not taken apart the caliper yet.

Does anybody have any ideas for what this might be? Or anyways to help diag?

Trying to camp late this week so need to get parts ordered if its something i am comfortable attempting.

It sounds like the brake is dragging to me. Likely due to a seized caliper. I'd pull the wheel off and determine if that's the case.

Thank you for your response. Is it worth/possible to un-stick? or is easiest rout to simply replace caliper?

Will pull wheel off again today and inspect caliper. Thanks agin

did you have a look at the brake pads? I had something similar sounding. mine was a chip rather than steady squeak and it was coming from the front. I replaced front rotors, calipers and brake pads and it went away.

Have you found the problem? I had similar noise...1st time was an acorn that somehow got wedged between rotor and caliper itself. 2nd time was a sticky caliper that wore inside pad to the point that it just rested against rotor. I thoroughly cleaned the port for slider pins & installed new pins. Don't over grease pins because you'll create the ceased caliper problem due to too much grease preventing movement. Also, had a clinking noise in another occasion every time I hit a bump. Thought it was a suspension issue but turned out to be the tension "w" spring on front pads that disappeared. Good luck.

My first instinct given the information you've provided would be a small rock stuck between the parking brake pad and the inside of the rotor. Try putting your park brake on lightly and driving backwards to see if you can dislodge it. Worst case scenario, pull the rotor off to inspect.

Reasons why I think this. You wouldn't see damage on the visible rotor surface, it would make this exact noise and it wouldn't cause excess heat in the rotor/wheel. Let us know what you find out.
