Clifford RSX3.5 INSTALLED!

Questions: The install people put the antenna on the drivers side right under the roof - it's quite annoying and I wish they would have put it between the roof and the rear view. Is there a reason they might have done this other than laziness? I can't change the location because there isn't enough wiring sticking out for me to shove it over. It's not that big of a deal really but if I was able to move it I would. Also, does anyone have roll-up installed on their FOB? I got the roll down installed but didn't ask for the roll up - maybe it's not possible? Anyone know?

i have the same alarm and the guy who installed mine hid the antenna. not quite sure where it is, but i can't see it at all and the reception is still good. a friend installed it for me and i can ask where he put it if you want. as far as back window goes, i can't do either.

Yeah that is wierd they left the antenna exposed, every alarm I have ever had (clifford included) the installer hid the antenna out of view... I would take the runner back and have them move the antenna, they should know better than to leave it exposed.

And if they try to tell you they did it so you would get better reception, it's probably just an excuse so maybe they can change your mind about having them redo it. Reception will be fine if they hide it so tell them to do it anyway.

It's quite possible that the wire's too short or something. That's what happened to my odyssey, when i wanted the antenna installed in the bottom middle of the windshield but the guy said it's too short. Just hide the antenna inside the dash or something. REception is still the same. Mine still works about a 1/4 of a mile away, and having it for 2 years now, having no problems (except replacing the battery like twice a year on the LCD remote). And this is only a cheapo PYLE alarm. :

We use to rep Avital alarms they are great stuff if it was installed right...with all the difficult wiring they use be wary of your install

Yeah, I took it to a place that is renowned for its install and all car audio anything, they know what they are doing. And I also wondered if the cord was too short to move it over behind the rearview mirror.... I'll take it by sometime on a day off and ask.

No, Mother's... audio outlet wanted to charge 400.00 for the install. CRAZINESS... mothers did it for about 200 or so... about 220 with tax and stuff. Got it done in a day. Never had a problem with it and I'm really happy with it. I can't wait for winter to really use it! Not that I don't now... I just haven't gotten used to it yet I guess..

with your remote starter what did the installers do to get around or work with the ignition immobilizer. I wanted an alarm with a remote starter but I have read that with the t4r's you have to disable the immobilizer. True?

I believe that is True. I am not technical at all but there is some part you have to get that is like 10.00 that bypasses that ... I'm pretty sure it's called a bypass haha. It's cheap whatever it is. Sorry I don't know what the real name is called - I would call the local install shop and ask em. They would know.

The immobilizer cannot be disable, or at least I haven't heard or seen it done. The installer will charge you extra for an immbilizer bypass unit. The unit with the programmed key will send the code to the truck's ECU so it can be started when the remote start command is received. You will need to provide a programmed key to the installer. You have two choices here, use either the master or valet key for the bypass or get a blank key programmed with your immobilizer code. I would recommend getting a blank programmed, because you don't want a theif going under your dash and finding the key in the bypass unit. (If he does, your alarm is as good as a paper weight.)
