Climate control on limiteds

I was wondering if any of you with problems with the climate control have used this guy on ebay that reverse engineered the problem they have and rebuilds the unit for $149. I did not see buying a new one for $900 that I would think would have the same defective problems as the original.

What are the common problems associated with the auto climate control on 3rd gen?
