Has anybody ever used a clinometer? do they work good, are they worth having?

ToyotaDoodz and Border411 have them on thier 4th gens. I personally haven't done enough offroading to comment on its usefullness.

It depends on how much and where you offroad as to how useful it is. I use it as a validation check to my senses and to calm the person sitting in the passenger seat.

You'll get pretty good and judging inclines but if you've been wheeling in the high mountians for a week, you can get a little over confident and this helps with that.

True story but the roll angle usually feels a lot worse than it really is in my case.

I like them, if for nothing else than the "fun factor". And yes, they are useful for watching your angle when you are unsure of your rig/skills/situation.

They are supposed to be correct only when stopped, but they work well enough moving.

If you want one, get it, they're fun!

If you're not hung up on having an OEM Toyota one, the Steel Horse one is $19.95. Yes, it has a "Heep" silhouette in the middle.

I have 2 of the Toyota OEM ones and they're pretty big. Cool, but big.

That's the one i was looking into (steel horse). I don't care about the toyota one bacause I don't have very much money to put into it.

One difference is you can't adjust the Steelhorse one to zero so where ever you mount it must be level side to side and then you adjust the tilt of the display to level front to back. Mounted on my center console was just the right angle to view it and also be level. I've been happy with it.
