Clock and radio constant power - same circuit?

I have an aftermarket head unit and harness that I installed over a year ago. It's a Kenwood and recently locked itself in protect mode, so I pulled it out, checked and reconnected every connection and made sure they were secure. Unit worked fine after that. However, twice recently I have found that the unit had reset itself to initial settings but the dash clock was not reset. Also, once recently while playing the unit, it cut itself off and on a couple of times. Given the random flakiness and the clock not getting reset on the dash, I'm suspecting the unit has an issue and not the vehicle, or at least it's in the harness or yellow wire that provides constant power. Does anyone know if the constant power to the clock and to the radio harness is the same circuit?

Clock and factory radio constant power are both powered off the 15A DOME fuse and the stock wire for both is a blue with yellow stripe (in 2002, probably other years.) The solid yellow wire is probably an aftermarket splice in. I'd trace it back to the factory wire and verify that splice. Of course, they could have tapped it anywhere, if they chose to. My aftermarket HU yellow wire goes straight to the battery, with an in-line fuse, of course.

Pull the DOME fuse and see if you still have 12V+ on the yellow. Then you'll know.
