Clock problem

Hey guys, I'm having a some problems with my clock.
I have a 99 4runner, and every now and then the clock doesn't come on but maybe a bump it comes back on.
I want my clock to be on all the time, instead of the no clock.
I read something the boards about taking the clock out the console and extend the springs out. Is that how i repair it?
or is there some other ways to repair it?

well, i got the console out. now the problem is how can i get the clock out and extend the springs out?
