ok, looked at the 2000 4runner and think its the one!
my only major concern is that its got a slight hesitation that I first thought only happened at idle when you hit the throttle (hit throttle rev to 1200, pause, rev to 2200 and drop to idle)
so i figured that it would go away with a tune up, so I had a guy I work with look at it (both work at a local shop) and has him drive it too, and he noticed the hesitation when he was beating on it in 2nd and 3rd gear
he thought the cats were clogged (he also thinks the cats are clogged on his previous car, and his current car) and that was the mean of the hesitation
so I drove the truck again tonight and only hesitation I got was the one at idle, I did exactly what he did when he said it was hesitating but it felt fine just that it wasnt accelerating like an STi or SVT sedan but like a 4000lb truck
I honestly don't believe its a clogged cat, but he does, the cheapest I would be able to get cats for it (i believe) would be 1000 for the front and 250 for the rear, so if this is the case I dont want to the truck, but i HIGHLY doubt it is... just looked it up on apw.com and they have Eastern Catalytic f&r direct oem fit for $300 the pair
so whats everyone think? he was asking 5000, lowest hell go is 4000 cash (kbb excellete- 7500, poor- 6000, trade in excellent- 5800, poor- 4500)
