Cloth vs. Leather

I would take sport cloth over the leather of this gen T4R any day. I'm confused why anyone would think the leather version of this interior is any good... It is thin, wears down very easily, has all of the negative traits of leather (heat, cleaning, maintenance, sensitivity), without any of the good ones (suppleness, durability, craftsmanship) of a real leather interior. Granted, nowadays the difference is moot since they pretty much all come from the same factory (Pecca), but compare it with real leather of cars in this vintage - MB, BMW, etc and you will see how bad this leather is. /soapbox YMMV

Caring for your leather

If you want to keep your leather soft and supple without cracking and drying out then invest in a quart of LEXOL leather conditioner. They also sell cleaner and it's not cheap but well worth it to protect your investment in leather seats. I use it often on all my leather seats and they really look great! You can find this product on EBAY as you may not find it anywhere local. Good Luck!

This is the first vehicle I've had with leather seats (after 11 cloth) and I love them! Only problem is the factory seat heaters don't get as hot as I would like.
Tinted windows keep them manageable in the summer.

My old runner had leather and the new one has cloth, and I don't really prefer one over the other.

Pros for leather: chicks dig it, easy to clean.

Pros for cloth: holds your butt in place better, doesn't get too hot or too cold

I specifically wanted the sport cloth seats. I just like the look, feel and longevity of the cloth.

It doesn't mean I'm anti-leather. If I had an Audi it can only be in leather, but in the Runners, I prefer cloth.

I agree with the first two points about the cloth, but not so sure about the second. Leather in Auid/BMW/Merc's is a USA only thing. Go to Europe and your rental car will probably be by one of the above manufactures and will probably be equipped with high quality cloth, not the crap you find in a chevy cobalt. I've had two cloth BMW's while living in Germany and they were far more comfortable than the leather version. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
