clunk after lift

hi all,
pretty new to the forum and have a question:
just installed Billy 5100s on Toytec coils. all went okay (except the rusted nuts and bolts!!) and now i have a new clunk over small bumps. it sounds like something is loose but i've checked and rechecked umpteen times everything that i'd worked on. other than that, everything feels great, really puzzled.
any thoughts?

It may be the UCA touching the springs at full extent do you hit the speed bumps with some speed? On mine I can hear a small squeak but I have light racing UCA so there a little longer. Only advice over getting new UCA is take the speed bumps a little slower.
 
The pre-assembled question is a good one. The bolts on top of the coils where the shocks attach need to be torqued to a specific rate. Over or under tightening them could cause this.

On a side note, since you've just done the lift make sure to check your CV boots frequently for leaks the next 100 miles or so. Mine slid up the shaft due to the new angle and I had to put new clamps on two of them around the axle.

yes they were pre-assembled by Wheeler's Offroad. i checked the torque on the top bolts. it almost sounds like a loose piece rattling for a short bit, not too loud, just not quite right. thanks for the suggestions and i'll follow the advice given so far and report back if anything changes.

ya know, when i measured the ctr of the wheel hub to the front fender after install, it was 3 inches. i figured it would settle down to the 1.5 we were shooting for. would that make a difference?
 
i have the same clunk and i swear its coming from the steering rack or something to do with steering. anyone know of this issue?
 
i just drove mine a bit, and it seems like a loose plate or something, not directly related to the new suspsension... wierd! it can occur even on tiny bumps, seems that it gets excited and starts bumping, but almost like a rubbing bumping. since the suspension is brand new, i'll give it a week or so and take another look.

thanks, your observation helped. it made me think.. so i contacted Wheeler's and asked if it'd 'settle down' as the front was set for about 1.5 inches of lift and he confirmed it would come down a bit. so i'm watching it and trying to weed out any outliers as possibilities. other than that i really like the leveled look and improved ride.
 
Okay, good suggestions and great link Chaz, cuz that guy had almost exactly the same symptoms. i'll check out the stabilizer bar ends. ah the joys of a 100k+mile vehicle :)

I just replaced mine and it still clunks on the left side under hard braking.

You are in Duvall Washington?

I lived off Big Rock Road growing up. Let me guess, it is raining as we speak? Never stops there.

Could be the sway bar bushings... Try taking the sway bar off and going for a drive to see if it still does it.
 
Whoah! i live right off Big Rock Road! been here since about 2003. when were you out here? nope, we're in an unusually dry pattern (but you didn't hear that from me!), fingers crossed. i also replaced my swaybar bushings with the new suspension, and greased 'em up, so that isn't likely.
 
UPDATE
well, when washing the rig, i pushed down on the passenger sway bar near the wheel, and, yep, it was loose. replaced it and now we're ridin' tight! thanks for all the helpful replies, you guys ROCK!
