Clunk after starting (4th Gen)

Has anyone experienced a clunk that you can feel/hear about a half second after you start your 4runner? I have an '07 4x4 with the V8 and everytime I start it, regardless of whether the parking break is on or off, there is a quick clunk.

My 4R only has 2,500 miles on it so I wouldn't imagine it being anything major or maybe it's just completely normal. I was just wondering if any of you have experienced it.

Do you leave you climate control to 'Auto'...maybe its the AC compressor engaging...

That's actually a very good point and quite likely what I am hearing. I do typically leave the climate control in auto. I didn't think of that but I bought my 4runner in June and the AC kicks on everytime I start the car.

I'll try starting the car with the climate control off and see if that is what I am hearing. I'm guessing it is.

Never felt any clunk on my `runner yet, when starting or otherwise. Guess I've been lucky so far.

ps - I leave the climate control in auto, and it is hot here in AZ right now, yet still no clunk for a/c. hope this helps a little.

Is getting into the low 120's at all this year in AZ?
