Clunk when trying to start

Hi everyone,

I apologize if there are other threads on this, but I couldn't locate one. I'm also a complete novice when it comes to diagnosing vehicle problems. I have a 2005 Sport Edition V8 with 192,000 miles. Daily driver, everything was running fine when I got home from work last Friday. Didn't get back in the 4Runner until this morning (Monday). It wouldn't start. All the lights and windows work fine. There's no clicking and it's not attempting to crank, even after trying for several minutes to jump start it. The only sound is a loud, almost metal-on-metal "clunk" from the engine compartment when I turn the key, then nothing. I'm not sure where to start with the diagnosis, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Mine does this when the battery gets to 12.0 volts. Everything works, but it doesn't even try to crank. Get a jump, charge the battery, check the connections, etc.
