Clutch Assembly! Write up!

Ok I'll keep it short and simple. It's not hard todo but, basicly first just take apart the clutch pedal and brake pedal, all there is; is a few bolts and pins to each one. You'll need to disconnect your clutch master cylinder, brake booster and all the brake master cylinder lines so u can back it out and have everything removed with eas. Took me about 4 1/2 hours. I work very slow and deligently

Then remove the piece of junk metal thats on there and saw it in half. I used a hacksaw because it's all i had.

Where it broke, usually you will hear a loud pop then, you won't be able to change gears as easy.

This is the plate, clutch pedal. I ordered it and installed outside the firewall. It's fit like a glove, I don't know why my truck didn't have one from the factory anyways.

This is the brake master cylinder and booster after i backed it out.

This is after I installed it back fairly simple to install.

This is after everything was done and the new bracket. Clutch feels so different. It's like a completly different truck!!

This is after I put the clutch master cylinder back and brake boost back and all the lines hooked up. Be sure to bleed the brakes after.

Was there a reason why u cut it in half? I just did mine but I have the old setup also and was thinking of welding it back together...where did u get the parts from?

Well the reason I cut it in half was because the part they sent me was only for the clutch assembly, and on my old bracket, my clutch and brake assembly was made together, so I had to cut off my old clutch assembly to bolt up the new one! I went through Toyota Auto Parts at Toyota Parts East | Genuine OEM Toyota Parts and heres a list of what I ordered.

55107-34030 SUPPORT SUB-ASSY, CL x1 79.85 = 79.85

55113-34010 PLATE, CLUTCH PEDAL x1 6.16 = 6.16

90386-04009 BUSH x2 @ 1.45 = 2.90

Total $100.82

PS. I would also order a New spring as well!! My old one won't work with my new set up and my clutch is very soft. I'm ordering a new one.

Nice prices...crap I think I paid like 200 for just my bracket..but then again I'm in Hawaii.

You may have gotten the whole entire bracket, instead of just the clutch one. Just be sure to keep us updated on how it goes!!

Thanks for the pics. I'll check out those links. Just bought a '97 and seller and toyota work order confirm that clutch master cyliner and slave cylinder and hydralic line are in bad condition.

Are there any recommended performance upgrades? Or is OEM the best way? (This is my first 4runner). Worth looking into any cheaper 3rd party parts? What is a good site/catalog to order 4runner parts from?:nicethread:

Bringing this one back from the dead...

Just to confirm, this was for a 95 4Runner 3VZ, correct? I just picked up this bracket for my 90 4Runner 3VZ and it has enough differences to where it doesn't fit correctly.

Were there changes to this bracket from 1990 to 1995? Any time I do a search for the part number '55107-34030 SUPPORT SUB-ASSY,' it's for a T100.
