Clutch not smooth (1990 4R)

My 1990 4Runner when I shift into 1st and go almost never goes smooth, it kind of goes like hm-hm-hm-hm,.. sort of jerks. I can't seem to make ot go smooth in between the gears, escpecially 1st and 2nd.

Do you think it's the bad clutch disk?

is it just sounds or does it actually jerk the whole car?

Just for fun since it doesnt cost any money. Try double clutching it to see if its any smoother. Maybe ur synchros are messing up...

but if i use more gas it seems to be easier to do it smooth, but it feels like too much gas then.

i tried double clutching, no change.

well if u give it more gas the clutch will vibrate less if there is something in there that shouldnt be...such as a bump is smoother if u go over it at 15MPH rather than 5MPH When was there any clutch work last done? If it was me and nothing has been done for many many miles id get a new clutch and resurface the flywheel but thats just me... the clutch is hard to find out whats wrong since u cant really look at it unless u take it out

I have this same problem with my 1993 4Runner. I am guessing that the flywheel is crakced or has hot spots. I have been driving my 4Runner for a year and a half like this.
