Clutch questions

On my 98 4x4 with the 3.4, the clutch has started to slip. It isn't really noticeable but I figure I might as well put a new one in anyways. Are the OEM clutches pretty much the best thing out there? I haven't found much in the way of aftermarket except for some crappy looking stuff on ebay.

Also, my clutch pedal doesn't come back all the way after shifting, there is about 3/4"-1" play in it. What could be causing this? I had the fluid changed recently and it didn't do anything. Any help would be awesome!

howmany miles on the clutch? OEM is good.

The return spring bushing wears out and will keep the pedal from returning.

My stock clutch made it to 100,000 miles, and that is with pulling a 26 ft sailboat on the weekends! My dealer wasn't very "experienced" in putting in the new clutch so be carefuly where you go.

The truck has about 174,xxx, and the clutch was replaced at 126,000 according to the last owners records. Is that bushing a hard part to replace?

probably cant get a bushing anymore. Push some grease in the hole where the spring rides on the metal tab. You'll see it when you get under there. and it wont bind/should return. If not just remove and install early model linear spring or one from a hardware store to pull the pedal back. There is a thread on yodatech I think.

The return spring is on the pedal. Look inside the car under the dash,drivers side.
