I think I need a new clutch in my 2000. Fourth gear slipps bad on hills and third and second are beginning to go. It has 100000 miles so its time for a new clutch. I went around to dealers today. Everywhere said 350-500 parts and 400-500 labour. Is it better to go to the toyota dealer and get oem parts or meinike which was 150 cheaper but not stock parts? Is around a 1000 bucks an ok price for parts and labour?

500 for parts no heres a oem clutch for under 200 now id resurface the flywheel unless its totally trashed then its probably another 150 for a new one ... the most expensive part is the labor to pull the tranny install the clutch reinstall tranny etc

LuK Clutches/FWs are great and mirror OEM specs. Ive used them before with much success. But if you can save even more money than going OEM, go with the one Elton suggest. As long as the "ABC" shop has great warranty not only verbal but written and has done more than one cluch job in the past, I don't see why you couldn't save a few bucks. Do your HOMEWORK, Search(In terms of shops) is the best advice I can give you.

LUK makes excellent clutches, had one on the jetta tdi for over 230k miles, even running with 1.5x stock power it it didnt slip at all when i replaced it, the clutch disc still had atleast 30k+ miles on it for good life.
Not sure i would want mieneke changing tailight bulb for me let alone a clutch job, i would ask around for a reputable shop, or go through AAA to see who they reccomend.

Got an aisin (OEM brand) clutch kit from Trail Gear with koyo bearings for $190 on sale. They are pretty close to that right now.. It is a good clutch. Way better quality than the pervious napa clutch I had. My flywheel was shot too, and I got a new on from napa for about $80.
Its expensive to have done and a major PITA to do yourself. I did the last one by my self in a full day. Its a lot of work to pull the trans/tcase, clutch flywheel, pilot bearing and put it all back in

If you came to me as a customer I would recommend OEM or Exedy; disk, pressure plate, throwout and pilot bearing. and then to machine the flywheel.
If it were my vehicle, and assuming the car isn't double the factory horse power or something and only had a 100K on it. I would buy a new disk from Toyota for $100 and call it a day.
