clutch sounds like crushing cans!

Hey, when i push my clutch in it makes a metal popping sound.... It doesn't do this every time, but i would say 1 in 3 times it does it. Any ideas?? I have also heard a faint ticking sound, not sure if the 2 are related or not.

Same with my truck. I tried spraying wd40 all over the clutch pedal but didnt seem any difference. Somebody told me it could be the bushing. I just left it alone, its sometimes annoying though but at least its not affecting the way the vehicle runs.

It sounds like a bad throwout bearing or a problem with the throwout fork.

makes perfect sense to me, i know the throwout bearing is bad. I just got all that replaced when i got my new clutch last year and the throwout bearing started "whistling" when the clutch was out. If i pushed the clutch in it goes away. It should be covered since there was a 1 year warranty.. hmmmmmmmm

There are clips to hold the throwout bearing on the throwout arm, and the bearing rides on the transmission input shaft cover. Both could cause problems if worn or damaged. I don't think it should have failed this soon, but I have seen cheap aftermarket bearings fail in 6 months. Good luck and hope this info helps.
