I might be going.

I'm pretty sure it's in the same general area. It's freezing up there this time of year. Are you guys gonna be camping out there?

My car is still in the break-in process. Everything's all new and shiny. I would definitely go if my car was at least 6 months old.

I took my rig out the first couple of weeks.

There are numerous trails around the campsite (Ocotillo Wells) that can be done with 2wd, some of them are pretty spectacular. There is still a load of planning and prerunning to be done. So im not really sure what specific 2wd trails well be doing yet, but it will definately worth the trip. Cmon everybody, more the merrier. :bigok:

Need not worry, I was down there right after I got my truck too :) And I literally didn't even have plates yet! hehe...

Also, if any of guys want to jump in someones truck for the rides, it's fine that way too as I'm not sure exactly what will happen.

All I know is I'll be down there havin some fun. Expect a decent sized group there with skill level from noob to moderate.

Best way to break in a 4Runner.

I was there last weekend, 3 weeks after I bought my 4Runner. Took a run off S-22 down Arroyo Salado and Tule Wash as far as Pumpkin Patch among other places. Be prepared for lots of dust and more dust and more fine dust and more even finer dust ...

need not remind me of the dust..... damn i learned quick to "recirculate"....:50cal:

Preventing cabin dust.

Actually, I believe my Owner's Manual says to use the outside air setting. The idea being that the blowers will maintain a positive cabin pressure the better to keep out the dust.

Dust!! Yet another reason not to go while my car is still new. I know... I'm a wuss. But, who knows, the meeting is about a month away, so I might go.

You can always go and just jump in on someone else's truck :)

j/k! ;): Don't worry so much, it's a truck! You can always do like Lance says and jump in someone else's truck.

If I have time, I'll head down too

Haha.. very funny. Like I said, I might go. Anyone know the name of the campsite(s) around there? I might spend 1 night.

Worse things than dust.

The dust wasn't to bad. What I found painfull was the sound of the creosote bush branches scraping against the side of my truck.

Seems like they got some rain out there from this weekends storm. Perhaps the flowers will be in full bloom by the end of next month.

Yup, me too. Nothing extreme, but enough get the runner dirty and have some fun. Here's a pre-plates picture.
